Here are three options on getting from the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to Emory University.

  1. Superior Shuttles

We highly recommend taking this shuttle service. It is reliable and is reasonably priced. Follow the signs to ground transportation where you will find the shuttle stop.

    Price Range

    • Per person: $30 (one-way); $50 (round-trip)
    • Group [reservation needed]: $25 (one-way); $45 (round-trip)

The shuttles run in 30-minute increments.

  2. Take a cab

Taxis are located at ground transportation at the Airport. The price ranges from $30-$50 depending on the time of day. You may also call and request Checker Cab at 404-351- 1111.

  3. Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA)

This mode of transportation can be complicated, however it is quite economical. If you would like to take the MARTA from the airport to Emory, you can take either the Red Line or Gold Line to the Lindbergh Station. As you exit the station, please be sure to tap your fare card on the MARTA logo on the turnstyle. This will allow you a free transfer onto the bus. If you do not tap your card at the exit, you will have to pay the full fare when you board the bus. After you exit the train and the station, you can follow the signs to the Bus Terminal, where you want to take the #6 bus. If you are staying at the Emory Inn or Conference Center, you will exit the bus at the CDC stop, where you will cross Clifton Rd and walk down the street to the hotels. If you are staying at the Woodruff Residential Center, go one stop further. If you are unsure of when to get off, please ask the drivers, they will be more than happy to assist you. We strongly encourage you to purchase your fare card at the airport and to purchase a round trip fare card. You will be able to purchase your card using cash or credit card, but if you do not purchase a return fare card, you will only be able to pay with cash when you board the bus on the way back to the airport. When you are returning to the airport, you will again take the #6 bus to the Lindbergh MARTA station and you will take the Red Line or Gold Line SOUTH to the airport. For more information or details on fares, schedules and rail lines, please visit the MARTA website (http://www.itsmarta.com/).
